Cathedral City Brixen

Neustift Monastery
The Augustinian monastery of Neustift with its beautiful light-flooded collegiate church and its art-historical treasures is always worth, no matter the weather. The Gothic vaults and frescoes by various artists are a feast for the eyes.
Rodenegg Castle
The fortified castle above the Rienz Gorge with the famous Iwein frescoes is located between Schabs and Mühlbach. These 11 frescoes, which are located in the tavern, tell the legend of Iwein, one of the knights of the Round Table of King Arthur. These frescoes date from between 1200 and 1220 and are the oldest secular wall paintings in the German-speaking world.
Ötzi museum
The South Tyrolean Museum of Archaeology is situated in the old town of Bolzano and, in addition to various special exhibitions, also hosts the permanent exhibition for the Iceman Ötzi. Ötzi is one of the most famous and important mummies in the world.
Messner Mountain Museum
The mountain museum of the great mountaineer Reinhold Messner actually consists of 5 different museums, which are located between South Tyrol and Belluno. With the help of dwellings, films and encounters, the RIPA in Brunico Castle shows mountain peoples from Asia, Africa, South America and Europe and sheds light on their religion and mountain culture.
Folklore Museum in Dietenheim
The South Tyrolean Museum of Folklore in Dietenheim shows the everyday life of the rural South Tyrolean population at that time. Agricultural implements, old farmhouses, craft workshops and cottage gardens, mostly indoors, and also partly outdoors.
